Ashley Rop

Ashley Rop earned her B.F.A. in Dance from Western Michigan University. While at
WMU, she was a member of the Western Dance Project and performed in
Orchesis Dance Society shows, Graduation Presentations, and Winter
Concerts of Dance. To further her training at the Alvin Ailey School in
New York City, the Kalamazoo Arts Council awarded her the Kalamazoo
Artistic Development Initiative Grant, which allowed her to receive
training in Horton and Graham technique, along with South African dance.

Ashley has also had the opportunity to teach and choreograph in the
Southwest Michigan area. She was a counselor at Blue Lake Fine Arts
Camp which allowed her to teach and choreograph contemporary jazz
dance. Education for the Arts has alsoperformed Ashley’s choreography at their Spring Concert.
