Elizabeth Schmuhl
Elizabeth Schmuhl began her dance training with the Cecchetti method of ballet in the Metro-Detroit area. She studied jazz, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, ballet, and pointe for over a decade and was a member of several competitive jazz, ballet, and lyrical groups that notably competed at Tremaine, Dupree, and NYCDA competitions. After moving to St. Joseph, Elizabeth trained with Eileen Cropley and Theresa Graziano at the Citadel Dance Center, where she studied ballet and modern and was a member of the Citadel Dancers. Since then, Elizabeth earned her BA from the University of Michigan, where she studied and preformed works by Bill DeYoung and Peter Sparling. At the University of Michigan, Elizabeth studied abroad in London, Honduras, and Mexico, and took dance classes in each location. She is proficient in Spanish and has published several pieces of writing. Elizabeth earned her secondary education certificate from WMU in Spanish and English. She has also completed two Paul Taylor Summer Dance Intensive’s and is excited to be teaching at the Citadel.
