Joseph Oprea has been teaching and performing music professionally since 2002.  He received his undergraduate degree in music education from Central Michigan University in 2002 and his graduate degree in bass performance with a jazz emphasis from Western Michigan University in 2009.  Joe taught orchestra for five years in the Forest Hills Public School system and at The Salvation Army Arts & Education Program prior to teaching at Citadel. Joseph has performed with many well-known musicians including Wes Anderson, Allen Vizzutti, Billy Hart, Robbie Smith, Keith Hall and Stefon Harris.  Joseph has studied bass with such teachers as Edward Fedewa, Joseph Conyers, and Tom Knific.
