Karen Hartman was born and raised in Southwestern Michigan,where she
began studying piano at the age of seven. She went on to study music at
Lake Michigan College and  Western Michigan University,where s he
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. During her studies, she
accompanied instrumentalists and performed at various churches and
organizations. Since then, she has taught piano lessons at The Salvation
Army Arts and Education Program and currently teaches at the Citadel Dance and Music Center.

Karen enjoys teaching students of all ages, helping them to develop the skills they need to gain a greater appreciation and
understanding of music that will last a lifetime. In addition to teaching
music, Karen enjoys reading, traveling and crocheting. She resides in St
Joseph with her husband.
