Sara Thomas

Sara Thomas received her bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, in 1989, where she studied with Regina Mushabac. She received her master’s degree from University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1991 where she was a student of Karen Buranskas. Currently residing in Mishawaka, Indiana, Ms. Thomas enjoys teaching privately and participating in orchestral and chamber music events around the area. She is the assistant principal cellist of the Southwest Michigan Symphony,  principal cellist of the LaPorte Symphony, and is a substitute cellist with the South Bend Symphony and Manchester Symphony orchestras. She currently teaches cello lessons in a private studio in her home and is on the faculty of Citadel Dance & Music Center, Suzuki Music School of Granger, and University of Notre Dame Preparatory Program.  Ms. Thomas is the cellist with Indigo Strings, and ensemble that performs for weddings and special occasions, and also with Julianna & Friends, a chamber ensemble that performs recitals in Elkhart, Indiana.
