Candace has been a piano and voice instructor teaching both group and private lessons for over 40 years. She brings fun, excitement to learn, and gentle discipline into the lesson experience. Her positive approach to learning, regardless of skill level or ability to comes from her training and education. She received her Bachelor of Music/Music Therapy degree from Western Michigan University. She has worked at the Kalamazoo Regional Hospital and at Berrien RESA’s Lighthouse Education Center.
She has taught piano and voice with different organizations including at The Salvation Army, which is the predecessor to CDMC since 1998. Other professional positions include Music Director and pianist at Twin City Players/TCPJr Players, Childrens Music Workshop, pianist & vocalist for local churches and choirs and accompanist and entertainer for parties/open houses/restaurants/churches. One special project was providing digital music for TCP's The Music Man. Candace is a member of Monday Musical and currently serves as advisor for the Junior Club where she promotes performance and scholarship opportunities. Candace's students have participated in activities sponsored by the Gilmore Keyboard Festival.
She continues to teach and perform with a love for music helping young and the not-so-young achieve their dreams.
