Lisa Bubar received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, Illinois. She has taught general and vocal music at the elementary and middle school levels in public schools in Illinois.
Currently, Lisa teaches private bassoon from elementary to college level to students across southwest Michigan. She is an Artist in Residence with the Lakeshore Public Schools and adjunct bassoon instructor at Andrews University and Lake Michigan College. She enjoys helping students with the challenge of learning to play skillfully on this unusual instrument, as well as to grow in their discipline and character in the process.
Lisa performs with the Lake Effect Wind Quintet, the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta, the Vesper Chamber Orchestra, the St. Joseph Municipal Band, subs with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and does other free lance performing in the Michiana area.
