Currently the Adjunct Instructor of Horn at IU South Bend, Andrews University, and the University of Notre Dame, Debra has been teaching in the Michiana area since 1988. She generally teaches about 30 students per week from several local school districts, including Concord, Elkhart, South Bend, Penn-Harris-Madison, and Berrien Springs. Her students range from fifth- and sixth-grade beginners to adult amateurs. In addition to her teaching activities, Debra performs in the Southwest Michigan Symphony, the Elkhart County Symphony, the Elkhart Municipal Band, and several chamber ensembles. She also freelances throughout Michiana, with community, university, and professional groups. A native of Western Pennsylvania, Debra presently resides in Edwardsburg, MI with her retired husband, Kenley, and their cat, Mippy, whose story was recently featured in a book, “The Magic of Cats”.
