June Musical

Ages 14+

Register for the audition you would like to attend.

March 14th 5:00-8:00 or March 15th 1:00-4:00. Please be aware we may call you back March 15th between 5:00-7:00

Prepare 90 seconds of a song from the show. We will provide sides from the script, so please look at material ahead of time.

We will start with the dance audition which will be mostly quick study. Please be ready to show all stomp buck time steps.

Register for Class
You must attend one or both of the following classes from April 7-May 20th. (You may register and attend these classes early as well. This would be a great way to prepare for the tap portion of the audition.)

Monday 6:45-7:30
Tuesday 6:00-7:00

Rehearsal Schedule
Not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal, however you should have availability for the following.

June 3, 4, 5 from 5:30-8:30
June 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26 4:30-9:00
June 20th from 10:00-2:00

Performances
June 27th 6:00 pm
June 28th 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm

Roles
Dance Leads: 9 Female, 8 Male
Non-dancing characters: 1 Female, 1 Male
Ensemble: 6-11

Tuition
$500 includes classes, rehearsals, and costume.

Payment Schedule:
$200 due April 7th
$150 due May 1st and June 1st.

Musical Theatre Program

  • Ages 5 & 6

    There is nothing kids love more than to Dance & Sing! These classes are designed to do just that. Kids will learn to sing and dance in many different characters. Great for confidence building and imagination boosting!

  • Ages 7-9

    Designed to cultivate confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of self. The imagination is placed center stage as these kids develop thelr singing, dancing, and acting skills.

    Classes meet on Monday 6:00-6:45 and/or
    Thursday 6:00-6:45

  • Ages 10-12

    Designed to allow the tween-ager to express themselves while developing their inner talents. Supporting good communication skills and allowing these kids to connect with their emotions is a high priority in these classes. Role exploration, vocal and dance technique make up the structure of the class.

    Classes meet Wednesday 6:45-7:30

  • Ages 13-15

    Designed to fit both the beginner and the more advanced triple threats. Thespians further explore character building and develop vocal and dance technique. Students are encouraged to partner this class with vocal and/or instrument music lessons, as we will be site reading music.

    Classes meet Monday 6:45-7:30

    34 Weeks September 9-May 31
    Open enrollment in January and April

    *students MUST be enrolled in this class by April 1st to be eligible to audition for the Citadel Musical.

  • Ages 15+

    This class works to further develop their triple threat technique as they prepare to audition for school and community musicals, as well as the Citadel Musical in June.

    Classes are held Tuesday 6:00-7:00

    Open enrollment in January and April


    *students MUST be enrolled in this class by April 1st to be eligible to audition for the Citadel Musical.

Registration
February 3rd Registration open to current students.

Audition
June 7th Noon-3:00
Dance audition will include learning material from the show. Please wear jazz shoes.
Vocal audition: please prepare 1 minute of any song from the show.
Acting audition: we will provide sides. Participants who are not yet readers, or are struggling with reading may prepare something ahead of time. Please email Lari at lgist@citadeldmc.org for more information.

Costuming
Costuming will take place during June. Each cast member will be asked to come into the studio for fittings once or twice during the month of June.

Staging
Let the fun begin!! We will work intensively July 7-18 from 9:00-2:00 Monday-Friday.

Performances
July 18th at 5:30 pm
July 19th 2-3 performances depending on ticket sales. This could be 11:00, 2:00, and 5:30.
